So, the film is about the Romanian War of Independence in 1877. It isn't clear who directed it after all, as for the cinematography, all we know is that it was a French artist who did it. The film is a great effort considering the technical difficulties, and it was widely acclaimed in Europe in the late 1910's.
It's also worthy to say that the Romanian director Nae Caranfil (directed Filantropica, E pericoloso sporgersi) is just finishing the post-processing on his last film, "Restul e tacere" (Everything else is silence), and the film is about the first romanian movie, the actors and the struggle that they went through to get the film done. The film will be ready this fall.
